Becky Sittason contributes to nonprofits served by Smith Beers Yunker her talents of campaign counsel, development planning and management, leadership development and volunteer coaching. She builds strong relationships with campaign staff and volunteers and understands how to help organizations succeed in fundraising. These unique skills coupled with her attention to detail and ability to organize and motivate is matched by her enthusiastic approach to each assignment. | Becky helps nonprofit organizations prepare, launch and manage capital campaigns, major gift initiatives and annual funds. She offers a forthright approach that allows nonprofits to build on their strengths and improve their capacity in both the campaign planning and implementation phases. Using the latest technological techniques, Becky assists nonprofits with improving donor research capabilities and records management.
At Northern Kentucky University and previously at Xavier University, Becky routinely used numerous on-line, library, Internet resources and court records to produce in-depth profiles on foundations, corporations and individuals. She has prepared detailed grant proposals for major capital campaign objectives, theater and arts programs, children’s initiatives and seed grants for nonprofits. At NKU, she helped secure a prestigious Kresge Challenge Grant.
Becky is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a former board member of the Association of Fund-Raising Professionals, Cincinnati Chapter. Working to promote strong ethical practices in research, Becky served on the board of the Ohio Prospect Research Network and as chairperson of the Greater Cincinnati Prospect Researchers Group.
She is very interested in helping young people understand and embrace philanthropy and is a visiting professor with Northern Kentucky University’s Honors Program. Involved with the innovative Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project since it was launched in 2000, Becky teaches a course on investing in the community that provides a unique opportunity to pursue “student philanthropy” through hands-on experiences in philanthropy and community leadership.
An alumna of Wittenberg University, Becky supports a variety of philanthropic causes. Currently, she is a Board member of the Campbell County YMCA where she helps coach the swim team. She is also a member of the FreeStore/FoodBank’s Client Services Domain Committee and co-chairs the Stewardship Committee at her church. Becky was on the board of the Women’s City Club of Cincinnati and Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Cincinnati. A native of Northern Kentucky, she lives in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky with her family and is an avid cyclist, swimmer, runner and skier. Recently, she began competing in triathlons.
