Development Director


The Healing Center (www.healingcentercincinnati.com) has been impacting the lives of poor and marginalized individuals and families of the Greater Cincinnati area since 1989.  Today, we serve over 3,000 guests per month by offering practical, social, and spiritual support to individuals and families. Services include, but are not limited to: food and clothing, job skills training and job search assistance, auto repair, mentoring, financial counseling, tutoring, prayer, life skills, training, and helpful information about local community services. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the needy in Greater Cincinnati regardless of economic circumstances, ethnic origin, or religious affiliation.  The Healing Center, a ministry of the Vineyard Community Church (VCC), opened its new 30,000 square foot facility in 2008 and currently employs a staff of 13, who lead a team of over 600 volunteers. 
 
The Development Director is responsible for developing, directing, and implementing a comprehensive development program to fund the Healing Center primarily through gifts outside of the VCC. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct a fund development program that includes an annual fund plan, foundation and corporate gifts, special events, and planned giving.
  • Oversee and implement strategies that will grow annual revenue, secure funding from individual, corporate and foundation donors, and build long-term financial sustainability.
  • Lead strategies and research to identify, prioritize, cultivate, solicit, recognize, educate and steward all donors and prospects.
  • Build and sustain relationships with individual, corporate, foundation, philanthropic and other financial sponsors.
  • Work to secure progressive and socially responsible business partners for specified projects.
  • Manage a portfolio of donor prospects and active contributors.
  • Collaborate with staff and consultants to ensure that publications and web sites of the Healing Center include donor-focused content.
  • Assist with working with VCC's Board of Trustees and the HC Board of Directors to enhance development efforts.
  • Lead the training and oversight of teams of volunteers to build an effective volunteer support structure.
  • Prepare an annual development plan and budget, outlining projected revenue and associated expenses.
  • Manage individual donor campaigns, including annual renewals and special appeals consistent with VCC values.

A minimum of 5 years of directly-related experience with a demonstrated success in raising the level of donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations through building strong relationships required. Demonstrated success in managing special events and fundraising campaigns is necessary.  BS degreed preferred.   We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, dental, life, and other voluntary insurance options, 403(b) plan, and paid time off.
